In response to the current geopolitical instability in Ukraine following Russian’s invasion, Taoiseach Micheál Martin announced on 24/02/2022 that visa requirements for all Ukrainian Nationals entering Ireland are to be waived.

On 25/02/2022, the Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee, confirmed the immediate lifting of visa requirements between Ukraine and Ireland.

According to the Minister, this measure “will apply to all Ukrainians who want to travel to Ireland. It will assist with Irish citizens and their families in Ukraine, as well as the families of members of the Ukrainian community here in Ireland who may want to leave Ukraine”.

Full details on how and for how long the implementation of the visa waiver programme will operate are expected to be announced shortly by the Department of Justice and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
