Rory graduated from NUI Galway with a BCL (International) Degree and an LLM in International and Comparative Disability Law and Policy.
Upon conclusion of his LLM, Rory began an internship at the Office of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Geneva, Switzerland. During this time, he contributed to the report, ‘The Impact of Ableism in Medical and Scientific Practise on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’. The report was published in December 2019 and presented to the Human Rights Council in February of this year.
Rory joined the KOD Lyons Civil Department upon returning to Ireland and is currently focussing on a series of Constitutional rights cases being taken against the State due to substandard prison conditions.
He is also in the process of completing his FE1 examinations
Prior to joining KOD Lyons, Rory worked as a legal assistant in Carpenter-Bell and Company Solicitors, Galway.
