John O’Doherty, Managing Partner

John graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Business Studies.

He was an apprentice in Terence Lyons & Company Solicitors and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland in 1997. He holds a Diploma in Financial Services Law from University College Dublin.

John is a highly experienced and well regarded District Court Advocate. He has extensive experience in all aspects of Criminal Law practice and procedure, from minor road traffic offences through to serious indictable offences. He has acted in many high profile cases throughout the State for clients before the District Court, Circuit Court and the Central Criminal Court.

He is noted for his practical and astute approach to dealing with the most complex of issues on behalf of his clients. John brings this wealth of experience to his role as Head of our Business Crime Practice and provides expert advice to companies and individuals in respect of criminal law liability and sanctions.

John is Chair of the Criminal Law Committee of the Law Society of Ireland, and a member of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association. In 2019 he was appointed to the Board of Governors and Guardians of the National Gallery of Ireland where he is Chair of the Development Committee.
