The figures show 66,000 summonses are being processed, compared to 13,000 a year pre-pandemic

The court summons backlog in Ireland is a major issue, with RTÉ’s Morning Ireland reporting that tens of thousands of court summonses are now backlogged.

Our Partner Matthew de Courcy, tells RTÉ that the issue relates to resources. “There needs to be a significant number of additional judges appointed to process and to service the existing caseload,”.
